Please Note: While we make every effort to simplify scheduling for our families, we cannot guarantee that siblings will be assigned to the same performance. Additionally, dancers enrolled in multiple classes may be scheduled to perform in more than one show. All parents and guests will be required to purchase tickets for each performance they wish to attend.
COSTUME CHECK WEEK
DECEMBER 7TH - DECEMBER 12TH
Plan to wear your dancer's Christmas Spectacular costumes with all accessories to class this week & bring your dress code dance wear to change into!!!
Costume check is a SUPER IMPORTANT checkpoint for our Christmas Spectacular Showcase! This is our only opportunity to see all dancers in their costumes with correct shoes, tights, accessories, and hair prior to the actual performance!!
Here's how it works:
During the week of Dec. 7th - Dec. 12th plan to bring your dancer to their regular classes wearing their performance costume with correct shoes, tights, accessories, and hair.
*If your child's class is a combo class, tap costumes will go first!
Your instructor will stand all performers in a line at the beginning of class and verify that all costumes are stage ready, all accessories are being worn correctly, and everyone has the correct shoes, tights, and hair.
Once the costume check is complete, your instructor will allow dancers to change out of their performance costumes and into their regular class dress code to continue on with class. We do not want dancers to get their costumes dirty or damage them prior to the show so be sure to bring your dress code to change into!!
Please remember to bring your dancer’s regular dancewear to change into. Dancers without a change of clothes will not be able to participate in the remainder of class—we want to keep all costumes in perfect condition for the big show!
To-Do Checklist for Costume Check Week:
- Arrive to class in full performance costume
- Include all accessories, tights, shoes, and hair styled as for the show
- Bring regular class attire to change into after costume check
- Label all costume pieces and accessories with your dancer’s name
- Double-check that costumes are clean, wrinkle-free, and performance-ready
- Pack costume carefully after check to keep it in perfect condition

DROP-OFF & PICK-UP
DANCER DROP-OFF INFORMATION:
BACKSTAGE VOLUNTEERS may bring THEIR dancer (and their dancer only) with them to Backstage Volunteer Check-in on the left side of the theater through the black gate.
Dancers who are not accompanying a Backstage Volunteer will check-in on the backside (right) of the theater at the Performer Check-in door.
At Dancer Check-in, your dancer will receive a wrist band with their name on it and the person dropping them off will receive a notecard with their dancer's name on it. We ask that you KEEP this notecard safe as we will require it to be handed back to ALDA staff when dancer's are released back to parents after the show.
Please plan to arrive early as it will take ALDA staff a few minutes to check every dancer in.
DANCER PICK-UP INFORMATION:
Dancer pick-up will take place on the left side of the theater at the black gate (the same location as Backstage Volunteer Check-In before the show). Please allow time for ALDA staff to release all dancers, as we will ensure each dancer is released to their designated guardian and that dancer notecards are returned to staff.
GETTING READY GUIDELINES
